Quick answer

Which option fits which business?

Klaviyo

Ecommerce teams that want behaviour and purchase data to drive detailed segments and lifecycle messages.

Omnisend

Smaller ecommerce teams that want prebuilt lifecycle workflows and several messaging channels in one visual builder.

Our quick verdict

Choose Klaviyo when rich data, detailed segments and a broader B2C platform will be used. Test Omnisend first when a smaller team wants to launch core ecommerce automations with less operating weight.

Omnisend and Klaviyo: one shared store scenario

A planning example for a small store: 1,000 marketing contacts, 8,000 emails per month and one operator. SMS and push are excluded. These are workload assumptions, not measured results or a price promise.

Run the practical evaluation with three synthetic products and a few controlled test profiles in a separate store. Do not use 1,000 real customers as test data. The table is a documentation-led evaluation protocol; we have not completed this comparative product test.

From store to controlled test

  1. Prepare a separate Shopify or WooCommerce store. Record the plan, integration and date. Check the plan's testing capabilities before paying.
  2. Connect one email platform at a time. Preserve the original consent state and keep campaigns and automations disabled while inspecting data.
  3. Create a subscribed profile, an unsubscribed profile and a previous buyer. Use your own addresses and record the expected outcome for each profile.
  4. Build welcome and reactivation flows as drafts. Check entry, delays, exclusions and exit before enabling a restricted test.
  5. Preview and use the vendor's test-send function with your own addresses. Log what actually happened, including blocked or failed steps.
  6. Pause the test flows. Save screenshots with test data, record quoted cost and operating effort, then repeat the same tasks in the other tool.

Choose from the workflows your team can complete and maintain. Start with Omnisend when a prebuilt workflow is the main need; start with Klaviyo when detailed order-data segments are central. Keep your existing system if neither meets your requirements.
